KEY WEST

– New Mexi-Castaways heads to the Florida Keys for a sunset celebration.

Hello Friends!

Well, it turns out having 3 kids IS much harder than having two. Go figure!

As I was putting the finishing touches on this latest episode, I was shocked to realize the previous episode was posted a full year ago. Where has the time gone?

But what a year it was! We moved back into our mountain home in New Mexico, sold our beloved floating home Hakuna Matata (Don’t know what I’m talking about? Watch this episode for the backstory.), watched our amazing daughters become even more delightful and our baby boy grow into a very active toddler. So, I suppose there are plenty of good reasons for the long hiatus.

But now it’s back to work… if I can even call it “work!”

This episode is another edition of the “New Mexi-Castaways” series recorded during our year long sailing adventure. It is all about a sunset celebration in Key West, Florida. Every evening tourists and locals gather at a place called Mallory Square for entertainment and fun. I remembered this nightly celebration fondly from my college days and was not disappointed when we went back while sailing in the Florida Keys.

As so many of us are thawing out from a very long winter, I hope you enjoy this tropical video postcard.

Enjoy!

Lots of love,

Rosa Linda

  1. That really brings back memories for me. I miss being able to take a short drive to Key West for a little getaway. Thanks for the great little video.

  2. Rosa Linda | It’s been a long time since we last spoke. Among the many projects I am running these days, I am teaching 3 Journalism courses, graduate level, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. So when I teach them about podcasts, I always show them yours!

Could we coordinate a Skype session where you speak to my students about your podcast, your experience, etc? Un abrazo! Luis Alberto

  3. Luis Alberto! So nice to hear from you. ¡Claro que si! I am on the road right now, but will get in touch as soon as I get back to New Mexico! Thanks for showing my work. Can’t wait to talk to you!

  4. Hey Rosa Linda!
It’s been a long time since our family sailed with you on the Hakuna Matata out of Hope Town! Congratulations on the new baby (though not so new now!).

We remember your family fondly from our excursions with you, and hope to one day see you all again. We are sad to hear that you sold the boat and went back to NM, for nostalgic reasons of course. 3 kids on the boat and all that went with that would have been tough.

I hope you are settled into home and doing well. It would be great to hear from you. We also have photos we tried to send on to you, but I don’t think we ever heard back that you received them.

    Cheers,
    Angela, Scott, Brie and Samantha

    1. Hi Angela!

Sorry I am just seeing your post. We also enjoyed sailing with you and your families.

I hope you are all doing well!

      Lots of love,
      Rosa Linda

P.S. I don’t think I ever got those photos. I also have great photos of your family somewhere in one of the many photo libraries I have. Need to dig those out one of these days!
