NM0003 – Mother of All Sales

Rosa Linda

Hello Friends!

Just 3 episodes into this new video podcast and I am floored by the response already. I just glanced at the email subscriptions and there are 65! That doesn’t even include iTunes and other subscription options, which I know many of you are using. We even sold some t-shirts! Thank you so much for your support.

This episode proved to be much more challenging than I thought it would be, which is why it is a little late. I actually posted it then discovered that the video was not playing properly. So I had to “unpublish” it and I have been trying to figure out the problem ever since. I’m crossing my fingers that this works for you. If it doesn’t, please email me or leave a comment so I can work on fixing it. (By the way, if you want to watch the story in a larger screen, click on the “iPod” link below the player!)

On the surface, this week’s episode seems like a story about a big garage sale, but once you see it I hope you find it is so much more than that. It is about the “Mother of All Sales” consignment event, and the women who created it. As I wrote and edited the story, I realized it was about possibilities; about challenging yourself to create something bigger than you expected and better than you imagined.

I suppose it is not unlike the journey I am taking as I create this video podcast. Hopefully you, too, will feel inspired when you watch what two women can accomplish when they work for a common goal.

Finally, a special thank you to Judy Van, who posted an amazing review on iTunes! I only hope New Mexicast will continue to live up to (or even exceed) your expectations.

See you in two weeks!

Sincerely,

Rosa Linda

  1. Hi Rosa Linda,
Excellent podcast about mother of all sales. ONe question i wonder about did the gals who ran it make ANY money?

I love the out takes and bloopers at the end — they really surprised me! Your shows are so smooth, I wouldn’t have guessed about the mistakes that can happen. Lots of good laughs. And seeing Ziva walking that was another surprise! She’s lovely.
    Bye
    Keep up the good work!

    Love
    Binnie

  2. @Bernice – They told me they managed to cover expenses and a little more. Both Natasha and Renee went on to do similar sales on their own, so I guess it must have been successful in their minds. I know the vendors and customers really felt great about these sales they created. It gave everyone a way to get rid of gently used stuff while also getting great deals on other stuff. Glad you really like the bloopers and outtakes. It gives me a chance to show some of the funny things that happen along the way. Plus, viewers get to watch the girls grow with every episode! Thanks for all your support.
